Build Something Real
EBM Manufacturing is looking for a Manufacturing CAD & CNC Technician to join our team in Lincoln, Nebraska.
If you enjoy working with CAD, 3D modeling, solving manufacturing problems, and seeing your work turn into a finished product, this is an opportunity to put your technical skills to work.
EBM Manufacturing designs and builds bulk material-handling and screening equipment for agricultural and industrial applications. Our products include conveyors, feeder screws, sectional flighting, spouting, screening equipment, and custom-fabricated components.
In this position, you'll work at the intersection of CAD design, drafting, engineering, CNC, and manufacturing. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and revising 2D production drawings, 3D models and assemblies, Bills of Material, and other engineering documentation, along with creating CNC files and nesting layouts used directly by our production team.
Your work will go directly from the computer to the shop floor to help our production team turn designs into real, finished products.
What You'll Do
CAD Drafting & Engineering Support
- Create and revise 2D production and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create and modify 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Develop detailed production, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
- Translate engineering concepts and project requirements into accurate manufacturing drawings.
- Review drawings, specifications, dimensions, and project requirements for accuracy.
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) for parts, assemblies, and projects.
- Maintain drawing revisions and engineering documentation.
- Work with engineering and production personnel to resolve drawing and design issues.
- Make drawing and design adjustments based on manufacturing requirements and feedback from the shop floor.
- CNC & Manufacturing Support
- Create and prepare CNC files and nesting layouts for production.
- Use CNC software to optimize material utilization and prepare files for cutting operations.
- Work with ProNest, TruFlight, Radan, or similar CNC/nesting software.
- Review CNC files and layouts for accuracy before releasing them to production.
- Translate CAD drawings into accurate, production-ready CNC files.
- Work closely with fabrication and production personnel to resolve material and manufacturing issues.
- Support production involving plasma cutting, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, forming, and custom steel fabrication.
- Help identify opportunities to reduce material waste, improve efficiency, and simplify manufacturing processes.
Production & ERP Support
- Create and maintain shop work orders and production information in VET ERP.
- Maintain accurate project, production, and inventory information.
- Assist with production scheduling and work-order documentation.
- Maintain organized engineering and manufacturing records.
- Communicate with engineering, fabrication, assembly, and production teams to keep projects moving.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
- Experience or education in CAD, drafting, engineering technology, manufacturing technology, mechanical design, or a related field.
- Working experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to understand how a digital drawing translates into a physical manufactured component.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and production teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- SolidWorks experience, including 3D parts and assemblies.
- Experience creating CNC files or nesting layouts.
- Experience with ProNest, TruFlight, Radan, or similar CNC software.
