About the role
ExcelAccounting
At BBYO, we're motivated by our mission, inspiring us to reimagine work to make it fun, flexible, and fulfilling. We are looking for a passionate Senior Accountant to join our team and make a difference. As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in leading a timely and accurate month-end close, keeping our bank, investment, and balance sheet accounts reconciled, and producing reliable financial statements and reports that strengthen the programs and experiences we create for Jewish teens. Alongside your teammates, you'll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens, our community, and the world.
SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As a Senior Accountant, a typical day will include:
- Driving the month-end close: preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules so the books close on time and accurately
- Completing bank, investment, and balance sheet reconciliations, then researching and resolving any variances
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, and maintaining subsidiary ledgers and schedules
- Producing standard and ad hoc reports that help Finance leadership and program teams make informed decisions
- Supporting non-finance staff with questions about expenses, coding, budgets, and systems like RAMP and Sage
- Partnering with the Controller and Finance leadership on special projects, process improvements, and audit preparation

- Technical Skills: You're proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 and comfortable working with accounting databases. Experience with RAMP and Sage is preferred.
- Experience: 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience
- Education: A bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting
REQUIREMENTS
- Attend BBYO major events (2–3 times per year), including Staff Conference and International Convention (Presidents' Day Weekend).
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5–10%, including team meetings.
