Background: The Proforest team in Kuala Lumpur office is looking for a dynamic individual with a keen interest in building a career in sustainability and an ability to be resourceful and adaptable when taking on tasks.
Objective: To provide ad hoc administrative and technical support to Proforest staff as and when required for all to on-going Proforest projects and programmes.
Tasks: These will vary from time to time but can be expected to include the following:
- Conduct literature review on specific topics and analysis of key findings
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations (with guidance from the relevant Project/Programme Manager)
- Assist in data collection, data entry and data visualisation (e.g. tables, charts, graphs) as needed
- Organise resource materials and filing systems
- Participate in project meetings and assist in in note taking
- Provide other administrative support as necessary.Opportunities for field work
Should the opportunity arise, the intern may be involved in a 3-5 days of field work to support Proforest staff. 
The nature and expected outcome from the field work will depend on the opportunity arising during the period of internship. However, it may also be possible that there is no suitable field work available during the period of the internship.
Learning Opportunities
The intern will be able to:
- Gain a general understanding of the responsible production and sourcing of palm oil and other agricultural and forestry commodities in the region. 
- Interact with and learn from Proforest staff in the Malaysia office and elsewhere.
- Observe Proforest’s interactions with clients and other stakeholders in consultancy settings.
- Gain an insight on Proforest’s approach, work systems and project management processes.
- Education: Currently enrolled in or have obtained a basic university degree
- Field of Study: natural resources management, social sciences, economics, human rights, agriculture, forestry, biodiversity conservation, environmental science/management, sociology, law and related courses
- Language Skills: English and Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is required. Knowledge of additional language(s) is beneficial
- Other Skills: MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe (pdf) etc.;Internet and social media skills
