ABOUT MAGIC MIKE LIVE

POSITION OVERVIEW
The On-Call Assistant Lighting / LX Deck supports the operation, maintenance, and execution of all lighting and deck-based lighting systems for MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS. This role works closely with the Head of Lighting to ensure smooth performance execution, reliable system operation, and consistent show quality.
This position plays a key role in on-deck lighting support, assisting with cue execution, system checks, maintenance tasks, and backstage coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced live entertainment environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
SHOW EXECUTION
- Support the execution of all lighting cues during performances as assigned by the Head of Lighting.
- Assist with real-time monitoring of lighting systems and report any issues immediately.
- Execute assigned deck lighting responsibilities to ensure accurate and consistent show flow.
- Load BlackTrax Beacons ensuring that they are always in the correct costume before and during the show
- Complete all pre-show and post-show lighting, BlackTrax, and deck checks as required.
LIGHTING & DECK OPERATIONS
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving lighting issues during rehearsals and performances.
- Operate lifts (scissor or personnel lifts) as needed for access to lighting equipment.
DEPARTMENT COLLABORATION
- Work closely with the Head of Lighting and other technical departments to ensure smooth integration of lighting within the production.
- Support stage management, automation, rigging, and carpentry teams as needed for show operations and maintenance.
- Assist with rehearsals.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
- Follow all lighting and electrical safety protocols.
- Ensure safe handling of lighting equipment and backstage systems.
- Operate lifts and equipment in accordance with safety procedures and training.
- Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately to the Head of Lighting or production management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–3 years of experience in theatrical lighting, live entertainment, or stage crew operations.
- Basic understanding of lighting systems, fixtures, and cue-based show environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cues precisely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working on Las Vegas or other resident productions.
- Experience working in live performance or technical production environments.
- Experience operating scissor lifts and/or personnel lifts preferred.
