Tribal Election Date: Tuesday November 17th, 2026
Tribal Election Certification Date: Monday November 30, 2026
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assisting in organization and set up the area on location of where election is to be held, secure grounds from loiterers, mailing out notices to eligible voters, posting notices of election around the community, control poll book, handout ballots and supervise ballot box. Also, clean area after election polls have been closed and return all materials to YTT main office. Tallying final votes, assisting in publishing Unofficial Election Results the night of Elections, Certification of Tribal Election Results at an official YTT Tribal Council Meeting following the Election.
Requirements:
- Must be available to receive training and that you become familiar with the YTT Election Ordinance.
- Be comfortable with working long hours the day of the election.
- Have the patience and ability to deal courteously with the Voting Tribal Body and coworkers.
- Be able to lift 30 lbs. or more.
- Be able to keep opinions of candidates to yourselves.
- Be comfortable with assisting Tribal Members who need help with voting.
- Be dependable and committed to our democratic voting process.
- Treat each voting Tribal Member with the respect they deserve.
ELECTION BOARD MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age or older.
- May not have an immediate relative currently holding YTT elected office.
- May not have an immediate family member who is a candidate in this election.
The term immediate family member has been defined in the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe Election Ordinance as follows:
7.1 Immediate Family Member
The term "immediate family member" shall mean a person enjoying a parent-child or sibling relationship with another.
