Oak View Animal Clinic in Pea Ridge, AR, conveniently located near Bentonville, is looking for a caring and dependable veterinary kennel technician to join our team! We are a well-established, progressive 3-doctor small animal practice providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to pets and their families throughout Northwest Arkansas. Our fast-paced veterinary hospital offers a variety of services, including preventive care, surgery, high-speed dentistry, in-house diagnostics, digital dental radiology, medical and vacation boarding, and more. To learn more about us click here.  What You’ll Do As a veterinary kennel technician, you’ll play an important role in the daily care and comfort of hospitalized patients and boarding pets. You’ll work closely with veterinary assistants and doctors to make sure every animal receives attentive, compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include: - Feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and caring for hospitalized and boarding animals - Cleaning kennels, treatment areas, equipment, and other veterinary spaces - Administering medications as directed after appropriate training - Monitoring appetite, behavior, medications, and overall condition and documenting observations accurately - Recognizing and communicating changes or abnormal conditions to the veterinary team - Providing post-operative care and assisting with hospitalized patients - Assisting veterinary assistants and doctors with safe animal restraint and examinations - Restocking veterinary and hospital supplies - Completing laundry and maintaining clean, organized work areas - Learning proper cleaning and sterilization procedures for surgical instruments - Following written and verbal instructions and maintaining accurate patient records What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working hands-on with animals. Previous veterinary kennel technician or animal care experience is helpful, but we’re most interested in finding someone who is willing to learn and genuinely cares about the well-being of pets. The ideal candidate will have: - A patient and compassionate approach to sick, scared, or injured animals - The ability to safely handle and restrain animals of different sizes and temperaments - Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions - The ability to learn medication administration and recognize potential health concerns - An understanding of basic cleaning and disinfecting practices, or the willingness to learn - Strong teamwork and communication skills - The ability to perform physical work, including lifting and handling large dogs, bags of litter, pet food, and other supplies - The ability to maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with clients and veterinary team membersIf you’re looking for a veterinary kennel technician position where your work directly impacts the comfort and well-being of animals every day, Oak View Animal Clinic would love to meet you.
