We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Commis 1 - Bakery to join our culinary team in Kochi, India. In this entry-level kitchen position, you will work alongside experienced bakers to support the daily production of high-quality baked goods. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your baking skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and product quality. - Prepare baking ingredients by measuring, mixing, and organizing components according to established recipes and procedures - Assist in the production of various baked goods including breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items - Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards - Follow recipes precisely and execute baking techniques under the guidance of senior bakers - Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products meet quality specifications - Assist with portioning, packaging, and labeling finished baked goods - Support inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and reporting stock levels - Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines - Perform general kitchen duties including cleaning equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and maintaining workspace organization - Respond to feedback from supervisors and continuously improve baking techniques and efficiency - Basic knowledge of baking techniques and fundamental baking principles - Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards - Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks - Strong teamwork and communication abilities - Ability to follow instructions precisely and work collaboratively with senior staff - Preferred: Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service environment - Preferred: Knowledge of different baking methods and equipment operation - Preferred: Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification - Preferred: Customer service awareness and professional demeanor
