Remote Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Clinician Location: Fully Remote Job Type: Sessional / Associate Specialisms: Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, GMC-Registered Clinician Join a Growing NHS-Funded Autism & ADHD Assessment Service We are seeking experienced clinicians to deliver remote Autism and Autism/ADHD diagnostic assessments as part of a well-established NHS-funded assessment service. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in neurodevelopmental diagnostics who are looking for flexible, consistent assessment work while working entirely from home. The service utilises a modern assessment pathway supported by purpose-built clinical software and ambient note-taking technology, allowing clinicians to focus on high-quality clinical decision-making and patient care. Who We're Looking For We welcome applications from: - Clinical Psychologists - Counselling Psychologists - Educational Psychologists - GMC-Registered Clinicians Applicants may specialise in: - Adults only - Children & Young People (CYP) only - Both Adults and CYP Essential Requirements Candidates must have: - Minimum 1 year of post-registration clinical experience - Minimum 1 year conducting full autism diagnostic assessments - ADOS-2 training and practical assessment experience - Experience assessing against DSM-5 criteria - Knowledge of ADHD and differential diagnoses, including intellectual disability - Experience conducting Adult ADOS assessments and/or CYP ADOS Modules 1-4 - Excellent report-writing and diagnostic reasoning skills - Ability to work independently in a remote setting The Assessment Model The service uses a flexible, adapted play-based and activity-based assessment model that explores Autism and ADHD presentations rather than relying solely on a traditional ADOS-led approach. Clinicians should be comfortable: - Conducting detailed autism and autism/ADHD assessments remotely - Adapting assessment styles to individual presentation and need - Gathering evidence from multiple clinical sources - Clearly evidencing DSM-5 diagnostic criteria - Producing comprehensive diagnostic reports - Participating in multidisciplinary team discussions What the Role Involves Assessment Preparation (30 Minutes) - Reviewing referral documentation and patient history - Preparing and tailoring the assessment approach - Reviewing questionnaires and supporting information Assessment Appointment (60 Minutes) - Autism diagnostic assessments - Combined Autism and ADHD assessments where applicable Clinical Administration (Up to 60 Minutes) - Clinical record keeping - Diagnostic outcome documentation - Session notes - Risk and safeguarding documentation where required - Review and inclusion of questionnaire results - Completion of MDT documentation with clear diagnostic evidence All documentation must be completed within 24 hours of the assessment. MDT Participation (30 Minutes) - Attendance at diagnostic MDT discussions - Additional MDT reviews for complex cases where required Total commitment per assessment: approximately 2.5 to 3 hours Expected Caseload Successful clinicians will typically be expected to: - Complete up to 4 autism or autism/ADHD assessments per day - Participate in MDT meetings - Complete associated reports and clinical administration What's on Offer? - Fully remote working - Flexible sessional commitments - Consistent NHS-funded assessment work - Dedicated clinical and administrative support - Innovative assessment and reporting technology - Immediate onboarding available - Opportunity to join a rapidly growing neurodevelopmental service
