Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Cost Manager to support the delivery of cost management services for data centre and mission-critical projects.
The successful candidate will assist in both pre-contract and post-contract activities, working closely with senior team members, clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. Candidates with experience in either CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) packages are encouraged to apply.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in one of the fastest-growing sectors within the construction industry.
 
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Estimating
- Assist in the preparation of cost plans, estimates, budgets, and cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support feasibility studies, benchmarking exercises, and value engineering initiatives.
- Review design information and identify potential cost implications and risks.
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and cost performance.Procurement & Tendering
- Support the preparation of tender documentation and procurement packages.
- Assist with tender evaluations, commercial assessments, and bid analysis.
- Review contractor and supplier quotations and provide cost comparisons.
- Support procurement and contract award activities.Post-Contract Services
- Assist in the management of project costs, variations, and change control processes.
- Review payment applications and support valuation exercises.
- Prepare regular cost reports and financial updates.
- Assist with final account administration and project close-out activities.
- Maintain accurate project records and commercial documentation.Stakeholder Management
- Work collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Attend project meetings, cost reviews, and commercial discussions.
- Support the delivery of high-quality cost management and client advisory services.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Commercial Management.
- Working towards or interested in obtaining professional accreditation such as MRICS or RICS is advantageous.
- Experience in data centres, semiconductor facilities, industrial projects, commercial developments, or other large-scale construction projects would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting either CSA or MEP packages within construction projects.
