ABOUT THE ROLE The internship program at Clēnera is designed to give current undergraduates an opportunity to immerse themselves into the complex world of renewable energy. We have created thoughtful experiences across the company to provide meaningful experiences for the interns and value for the organization. Students who will be successful in this program will bring a passion for the renewable energy industry, a strong work ethic centered around self-motivation, and a desire to learn and grow by working alongside some of the best and brightest in the industry. The Accounting Intern is responsible for assisting with basic financial tasks, such as reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate records. You will be guided by senior accounting professionals in a rapidly growing organization with complex organizational and partnership structures. *Paid 12-week internship opportunity starting in May/June 2027. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Review and support the preparation of a variety of financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with accounting policies, GAAP, company procedures, and any other applicable regulatory standards within a complex organizational/partnership structure. - Review and support the preparation of journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end closing activities. - Prepare financial reports and records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. - Prepare consolidated financial statements for financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. - Analyze contracts for accounting requirements and ensure accounting entries and reports agree with applicable contracts. - Support the Accounting team with tasks related to period close in a timely and accurate manner. - Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization. - Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables. - Demonstrates the Clēnera Core Values of Caring, Committed, and Courageous. - Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Education: Undergraduate or graduate student, preferably entering their final year, pursuing a degree in accounting. - Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines. - Skills/Attributes: - Basic understanding of accounting principles and proficiency with accounting software. - Developing basic analytical skills; able to identify discrepancies under supervision and resolve routine issues. - Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet deadlines during month-end close and reporting cycles. - Works cooperatively with colleagues across departments to support shared financial goals. - Responds positively to changes in procedures, systems, or priorities, maintaining productivity. - Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. *Recruiting agencies, we are not currently accepting unsolicited referrals for this or any open role.
