About the role
Household Assistant in San Diego, CA: $30–$32/hour, full-time, Monday–Friday. A busy solo entrepreneur is hiring a dependable Household Assistant to handle grocery shopping, errands, daily meal prep, laundry, and light housekeeping.
This role combines the work of a personal assistant, house manager, and housekeeper in one consistent, full-time weekday position. It's ideal for someone who takes pride in a well-run home, works independently, and anticipates needs before being asked.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 paid hours per week. Choose an 8.5-hour day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (for example, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM) or a 9-hour day with a 1-hour unpaid lunch (for example, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM). Start and end times are flexible by about an hour.
This is a W-2 household position placed by Hello Nanny!®, a nationwide household placement agency.
Household Assistant responsibilities
Shop for groceries and run household errands
Plan and prepare daily meals, and keep the kitchen stocked and organized
Wash, fold, and put away laundry
Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean every day
Keep the home tidy, organized, and guest-ready
Help with package returns, pantry and fridge organization, and coordinating home services and deliveries
Household Assistant qualifications
2+ years of experience as a household assistant, house manager, housekeeper, or in a similar private household role
Confident home cooking skills, and the ability to follow the client's preferences and dietary needs
Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage your time without supervision
Discretion and professionalism in a private home
Valid driver's license, a reliable and insured vehicle, and a clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (groceries, laundry baskets)
Nice to have
Experience supporting busy professionals, entrepreneurs, or high-profile clients
Meal planning, or experience cooking for specific diets
CPR/First Aid certification
Pay, schedule, and benefits
$30–$32/hour, paid as a W-2 employee
40 paid hours per week, Monday–Friday
