For more information: auberge.com/mauna-lani Follow Mauna Lani on Facebook and Instagram @MaunaLaniAuberge The starting salary range for this position is $80k - $87k annually. - Assist in the oversight of the operation of Housekeeping and Laundry.  Ensure the highest possible degree of cleanliness, maintenance and aesthetic value is achieved. - Lead in development and implementation of departmental standards, policies and procedures to ensure consistent level of cleanliness in guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, bar, spa, pool and all other appropriate areas. - Lead Housekeeping team by treating staff respectfully and fairly.  Provide supportive documentation to motivate, evaluate, mentor, schedule, recognize and discipline. - Maintain effective daily communication with Guest Services to ensure guest expectations and preferences are met.  Coordinate arrival and departure patterns appropriately. - Assist in cleaning, servicing, or inspecting rooms as necessary to ensure availability for guests. - Assist with weekly scheduling, daily room assignments, and inspections as needed to ensure efficient use of labor. - Oversee payroll and ensure labor standards are in line with budget. - Report any issues with vendor relationships, ensuring product, service and pricing are appropriate. - Oversee purchase and control of inventory, guest supplies, and cleaning supplies.   - Assist in maintaining an effective “Lost and Found” program to include proper reporting, logging, storing, and following up with guests. - Work closely with Engineering to develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure a positive guest experience.  Train Room Attendants & Supervisors to recognize and report any deficiencies in accordance with resort and departmental standards. - Maintain a key control program to ensure a safe and secure working environment. - Ensure all employees adhere to resort grooming and uniform standards. - Lead pre-shift meetings in the absence of Director of Housekeeping to review daily activities, arrivals, standards and guest information.   - Participate in monthly staff meetings to discuss issues, review employee concerns, hotel information, Planet Auberge information, safety training and other relevant topics. - Maintain respect for guest confidentiality and personal items. - Engage each guest with a smile and appropriate greeting, using the guest’s name whenever appropriate.  Graciously accommodate guest requests. - Make suggestions for improvement in overall operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenue and cost reduction. - Demonstrate and uphold Auberge Collection Core Standards at all times. - Respond properly and take appropriate leadership role in any property emergency or safety situation. - Maintain safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.  Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies through training, monitoring usage, and proper labelling of supplies. - Work in accordance with hotel and departmental safety standards. - Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the Planet Auberge program - Perform other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.   Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.  - Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. - Frequent need to stand for long periods of time.       - Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally. - Vision requirements: constant need to view small print.  Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach. - Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.   SKILLS - Must have the ability to balance administrative, operational, and other departmental needs.  - Must have strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. - Must be a self starter, responsible, able to multi-task, plan and organize self. - Must be able to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.  Education: - Any combination of education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability. - High school graduate preferred.   Experience: - Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.  - Computer literacy in Microsoft Window applications required. - Working knowledge of Property Management system Opera & ALICE Suite are assets. - Must have a Valid US Driver's License with no violations within the last two years. - Ability to drive and park all vehicle types. - At least 2 years of Housekeeping or related discipline and leadership experience required. - High school or equivalent education required.
