About the Company We are a renewable energy and ocean technology company committed to rapidly developing and deploying technologies that will ensure a sustainable future for Earth by unlocking the vast energy potential of its oceans. Our focus is on capturing civilizational levels of ultra-low-cost renewable energy for applications including computing and affordable renewable fuels delivered to shore. The company is a public benefit corporation headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and backed by leading venture capitalists, philanthropic investors, university endowments, and private investment offices. We operate as an idea meritocracy in which the best ideas change the company’s direction on a regular basis. About the Job Our core technology is the node, a device that produces energy in the ocean’s harshest conditions for years at a time without human maintenance or intervention. We're looking for a Business Systems Engineer to own the platforms our company runs on day to day and the connective tissue between them. Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Slack are where work actually happens here. You'll own how they're configured, and how they talk to each other. This role is for someone who reaches for an API when the admin console runs out of road. A lot of the work is eliminating the manual handoffs between systems: the spreadsheet someone maintains by hand, the ticket someone copies into a second tool, the approval that lives in a DM. You'll find those and replace them with something that runs itself. You'll partner across Finance, People Ops, and Engineering to understand what they need, then build it. Our IAM Engineer owns the identity plane, so you'll work together on SSO and provisioning for the applications you administer. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to thrive in a creative, scrappy, and collaborative environment in which the best ideas change the company’s direction on a regular basis.
