SCOPE:
The Branch Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, supervising, and supporting employees across multiple Community Services programs and branch office locations while ensuring ONWA's vision, mandate, objectives, and community member deliverables are achieved and aligned with ONWA's Strategic Plan.
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, delivery, and management of programs in accordance with program standards, funding requirements, and organizational guidelines. The position ensures the branch office remains a safe, welcoming, and culturally grounded space for Indigenous women, their families, and the community.
The Branch Manager works collaboratively across all ONWA portfolios and departments to support program growth, service excellence, community engagement, staff development, and organizational priorities. The role is responsible for operational oversight, staff supervision, program development, financial management, reporting, community partnerships, and continuous program improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS:
- Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree related to Indigenous Learning, Social Work, Justice, or a related discipline with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a supervisory or management role. A Master's Degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience supporting and advocating for Indigenous women and families.
- Demonstrated leadership, administrative management, and staff supervision experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing crisis situations and mediating conflict.
- Strong understanding of community member-centred service delivery approaches.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with case management and supportive counselling.
- Experience managing contribution agreements and developing successful funding proposals.
- Experience with program budgets, cash flow management, project financial management, and expense forecasting.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience with program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Proven ability to establish, maintain, and strengthen partnerships and community relationships.
- Excellent networking, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and active listening communication skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet operational and program needs.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge and experience with Indigenous cultures, traditions, ceremonies, and cultural practices.
- Strong understanding of psychological, social, and cognitive development.
- Knowledge of historical, intergenerational, and contemporary trauma impacting Indigenous women and families.
- Understanding of the psychological, neurological, physiological, social, and spiritual impacts of trauma.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and wise practices.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous Gender-Based Analysis and integrated feminist, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approaches.
- Knowledge of program planning, implementation, evaluation, and service delivery models.
- Knowledge of contribution agreements, funding requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Knowledge and understanding of nonprofit organizations and community-based service delivery.
- Thorough knowledge of community services, referral systems, and external service providers.
- Knowledge and understanding of current issues facing Indigenous women and their families.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered an asset.
