Job Description
EMS Unlimited will soon begin to provide on-site medical in Glynco, Georgia. This is a brand-new station for us, Station 351. This posting will be used to seek out 1 Full-Time Program Manager plus 3-5 Part Time team members that will provide services during overlapping high risk activities.
This will be Monday - Friday ALS coverage for: live-fire ranges, explosives and arson training, defensive tactics, high-intensity PT, and scenario-based exercises. You will be the Paramedic on standby, providing ALS assessments and interventions while coordinating any required transport via the local 911 system.
What you'll do
- Provide on-site ALS coverage during scheduled training days
- Assess, treat, and stabilize injured or ill trainees, instructors, and staff
- Hand off to the Health Unit or local EMS when a higher level of care or transport is needed, and stay with your patient until relieved
- Watch for heat stress, dehydration, and exertional illness, and advise instructors on medical risk during high-exertion and extreme-weather training
- Join safety briefings and planning meetings when asked
- Inspect, inventory, and restock trauma kits, AEDs, oxygen, and other medical equipment every day
- Document every patient encounter accurately and on time, and protect patient privacy (HIPAA)
- Help prepare monthly encounter summaries and equipment readiness reportsSchedule
- Monday through Friday, day shifts, generally 0700–1730
- Federal holidays off
- Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend training events, scheduled in advance
- Part-time positions fill coverage around the full-time schedule and support surge and special eventsPay
- Full-time: $85,000 per year, plus health & welfare benefit, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid federal holidays - Plus; Total Rewards - Medical/Dental/Vision/401K, Uniform Allowances, Wellness allowances and paid education!
- Part-time: $38.46 per hour, plus health & welfare benefit and paid sick leave
- This position is covered by the Service Contract Act; wages and fringe benefits meet or exceed the applicable Wage Determination.
Required
- Current National Registry Paramedic (NRP)
- Georgia Paramedic license, or able to obtain one before your start date
- Current CPR/BLS and ACLS
- Current TCCC/TECC or ability to pass a provided course
- Minimum 3 years of field experience in emergency medical response
- Able to pass the FLETC Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB), a fitness assessment that may include a 1.5-mile run, the Illinois agility run (a timed cone course), a maximum bench press measured against body weight, a sit-and-reach flexibility test, and a body composition measurement. Passing scores are based on age and gender.
- Able to pass a federal background investigation and security vetting before starting work, and sign non-disclosure agreements
- Professional appearance and conduct in a federal law enforcement settingPreferred
- Experience supporting law enforcement training, tactical teams, military training, or other high-risk operations
- Lives within commuting distance of Glynco / Brunswick, GA - Relocation assistance available.
