Communications Coordinator
Job Description
GCC is looking for a candidate who is committed spiritually and professionally to oversee the communications of the church through various media. The Communications Coordinator at GCC is responsible to coordinate, create, and deliver the digital, print, and social media communications from church leadership to the congregation and public at large. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of creative media and be able to create content on multiple platforms. This position is an hourly, part-time position of 20-30 hours per week. Compensation is dependent on the credentials and experience of the candidate.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the communication schedule of the church and execute all communication accurately according to the master schedule.
- Direct communication content strategies to maximize participation at GCC events.
- Create, edit, and deliver the weekly newsletter, “This Week at Grace” according to the communication schedule.
- Create and manage registration portals for church events as needed.
- Create media announcement slides for Sunday morning worship.
- Create visual/video elements for sermon series, churchwide events, social media posts, etc.
- Manage and update the website regularly for clarity, accuracy, and appearance.
- Other ministry tasks as needed and at the discretion of the Pastoral Staff/Elders.
Working Relationships
- Work closely with the GCC staff to ensure that all communications are scheduled correctly, have appropriate representation, and are delivered according to the communication schedule.
- Work with Worship Pastor for approval on weekly communications.
- Attend weekly staff meetings to stay connected with all ministry initiatives.
- Communicate with volunteer council leaders to meet communication needs as required.
- Manage last-minute changes to communications by informing GCC staff or council leaders in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Must have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Possess a working knowledge of the Planning Center platform, or willingness to learn.
- Experience with Canva, CapCut, Photoshop, and Igniter Media, or comparable creative-media software is preferred.
- Must be skilled at proofreading printed and digital media for accuracy of grammar, spelling, calendar items, etc.
- Must be a member or regular attender at GCC or be willing to become a part of the GCC family.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must have the ability to work from home at times with personal technology.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in person, through email, via text, etc.
- Must have the ability to bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds at times.
