You'll develop the technical expertise, problem-solving mindset, and operational understanding needed to help shape the future of Fleet Engineering at Sysco.  You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full fleet lifecycle, from vehicle specification and fleet planning through to engineering, maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Working alongside experienced fleet engineers, compliance specialists, maintenance providers, and operational leaders, you'll build the knowledge and confidence to make a real impact on a critical part of our business.  The first six months of your programme will be spent fully immersing yourself in our Operations and Distribution business. This will involve working as part of both our warehouse and transport teams, experiencing day and night shifts, and gaining a thorough understanding of how we operate and deliver for our customers.  Following this induction period, you’ll be supporting fleet projects and initiatives across our UK network. Through key placements in Fleet Build & Planning, Fleet Engineering & Maintenance, and Compliance, you'll gain experience in:  - Fleet specification, procurement, and vehicle lifecycle planning  - Fleet engineering and maintenance strategies  - Vehicle performance, reliability, and asset optimisation  - Transport legislation, vehicle compliance, and regulatory requirements  - Supporting the introduction of new vehicle technologies and sustainability initiatives  - Working with maintenance providers, manufacturers, and operational teams  - Participation in fleet improvement and engineering projects  - Data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring  - Development of technical procedures, standards, and documentation  - Continuous improvement initiatives that enhance fleet safety, efficiency, and customer service You’ll also be fully supported to complete various technical training to support your journey to Chartership.   This is your chance to make an impact, learn from industry experts, and kick start your career.  Key Information: - This programme is based from our Grantham site but will require travel across the UK to our depot and office locations. In addition, there will be graduate workshops and other key business events that may take place at sites across the UK.   - There is potential for a company car in year 2 of the programme dependent on your project sites.     - Placement rotations will be a combination of fully onsite and hybrid working models   - 39hrs a week, Monday – Friday  (some night shift working during initial induction period so that you get to experience our full operation)  What you’ll need to succeed: - A minimum of a 2:1 or above Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering degree field   - Passion for vehicles and interest in pursuing a career in Fleet Engineering   - Driving licence and access to transport  - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills   - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment & independently   - Analytical and problem-solving abilities   - Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn   - Initiative and a growth mindset  The Application Process: If you’re interested in joining us – apply now!  Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and if you meet our entry criteria you’ll be asked to complete a short online assessment.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online ‘Life at Sysco’ module and then move onto our strengths-based video interview.  If successful at this stage, the final step will be an invite to join our onsite assessment day.  This is currently planned for 1st December in Grantham.  Support and guidance will be provided throughout the process and further information to help you learn more about Sysco GB can be found here.  We also recommend candidates complete our online virtual experience programme which provides an insight to the world of Sysco, how we support customers, deliver top quality products, and work together as a team to achieve this.       What we offer: - Competitive salary and benefits package  - Support on your journey to Chartership   - Pension + life assurance  - Heavily discounted staff sales on Sysco products  - Cashback/discount platform  - Volunteering hours  At Sysco everyone is welcome.
