About the Role
Tellent is a talent management suite: an ATS, an HRIS, and Performance Management, with AI capabilities woven through all of them. Our customers increasingly use more than one product, and expect them to work as one. The Platform team is where those products meet: shared foundations, cross-module sync, the pieces that make three apps feel like one suite. You'd join Platform and work closely with our Product Enablement team on, including a growing set of AI-driven capabilities.
This is a genuinely cross-stack seat. The backend core is Elixir, but the problems don't stay in one codebase: one week it's a Phoenix service, the next it's a React screen in one product and an Angular one in another. We're looking for someone who follows the problem wherever it lives, doesn't need a fully specified ticket, and enjoys working in more than one codebase without waiting for a pattern to exist first.
Your 12-Month Journey
- First 3 months: learn how our products talk to each other, ship your first cross-product improvement in, get comfortable in at least two of our codebases.
- Within 6 months: own an enablement or platform area end to end, from an ambiguous ask through design, build, and measured outcome. Be the person others ask about it.
- After 1 year: shape how cross-product capabilities get built at Tellent, and be one of the engineers who raises the bar for working across the suite.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building the shared foundations and integrations that connect our products, on an Elixir/Phoenix core.
- Working across the frontend stacks of the products you touch: React in some, Angular in others, whatever the problem needs on top of the backend work. Think 60/40 backend/frontend, not 100/0.
- Turning fuzzy enablement and AI ideas into buildable slices: you get problems, not tickets, and help decide what to build before deciding how.
- Shipping to mature products with thousands of organizations on them, then checking whether it actually moved anything.
- Working in existing codebases with existing conventions. Platform work means adapting to how each product does things rather than introducing new patterns.
- Collaboration: daily with the Platform team and Product Enablement (PM, design), plus the engineers of the product teams you integrate with.
What You Bring
- Strong backend experience, with Elixir (Phoenix; PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Oban) as a real head start. People join us from other stacks and learn Elixir on the job, so strong fundamentals plus proof you pick up languages fast also works.
- Real frontend experience in production: React or Angular, ideally exposure to both. This is not a bonus here, it's part of the job.
- Range over depth in any one stack: you've worked across several codebases and technologies and are comfortable being the newcomer in one while being the expert in another.
- Senior-level judgment: when to refactor, when to ship, when good enough is good enough. Especially: when to follow a product's existing conventions rather than bring your own.
- Product thinking: you ask why before building, push back on requirements that don't serve the user, prototype cheaply, and are fine being wrong quickly.
- Communication: you can explain trade-offs to product people and hold your own in technical discussions across teams that don't share a stack. Fluent English.
- Comfortable with synchronous collaboration: we balance sync and async work. Expect regular pairing and real-time problem solving alongside independent work.

About Tellent
Tellent is a Talent Management Suite that helps organizations attract, hire, manage, and grow their people. Our platform combines Applicant Tracking, HRIS, and Performance Management solutions used by 7,000+ companies across 100+ countries.
With 250+ employees across Europe, we're building intuitive and scalable HR technology that helps companies create better employee experiences.
The products we build handle some of the most sensitive information people share in their working lives — from candidate applications and employee records to performance data. Security and privacy therefore can't simply be bolted on afterwards; they need to be part of how our products are designed and built. This becomes even more important as we introduce AI-powered functionality across our products.
AI in our recruitment process
We use our internally developed AI tools to help streamline our recruitment process. However, technology never makes a decision. Every candidate is personally reviewed by our team. Your journey with us is guided by people, supported by tech. Curious about how it works? Read our AI Statement, check our Privacy Policy, or chat with us at [email protected].
